FINDING & KEEPING A JOB

Finishing school and turning 18 is a huge transition for individuals and families, this is a daunting time, filled with huge uncertainty, excitement, and opportunity. Project Enable believes that everyone is entitled to meaningful employment doing something that excites us and brings a sense of self-worth, belonging and new connections with peers at work. Our SLES program is built around the individual, we are all different and all want different things from working. We will help you explore the wide range of different types of jobs and prepare to for job readiness addressing any barriers that you feel you may have. We will work together to develop your own pathway to employment plan, that will be your road map to employment. Pathways to employment is a collaboration between you and your Facilitator at PE.

Some of the opportunities include:

• Work experience, that is real on the job training to enable you to develop the skills and achieve your dream job in the industry you want to be in

• Industry tasters, great if you don’t know what you want to do, this enables you to try out lots of different types of jobs and roles to work out what you really love and want to do

• Support to help you build all your vocational skills from communication to self-advocacy, where to go for help and support to planning your next career move!

• Delivered flexibly in line with your pathways plan for your future employment success. This includes 1:1 and/or small group opportunities
